My Dental History, Cognitive Development of Childhood Hygiene and Character

I was reflecting on this photo of myself that is not too unfamiliar in this generation of Facebook social media of what we identify as a "Selfie" for images of ourself through our own hand in technology.

I have memories of stages I went through to preserve the health of my teeth; as well as, childhood accidents that occurred that caused bleeding and healing.  I also remember dental work of surgeries and required dentistry to maintain or clean further neglected periods of dental hygiene.

This independent study on self-examination on my dental hygiene; allowed me to see how my family orientation on the corporal works of care of the body was an intellectual demand on my will to meet the discipline of dental hygiene.

It was a weekend of movies and popcorn and I remember wanting to sleep while the movie was still not at its end; and I had just finished a bowl of buttered salted popcorn.  I woke my legs to the bathroom to brush my teeth amidst the heaviness of sleeping mode and willed to clean my teeth.  And I went back to my room to sleep with clean teeth.

The will was awake.
